I recommend if you have the time to step away from your day's activities and take a look around at your living space. Even fifteen minutes of your time goes a long way.
It's hard to notice things that don't fit in your life in the midst of regular activity. If something is not part of your life, it tends to sit off to the sidelines. It's blurred from your awareness because it's not important. When you take the time to purposely look around then the powerful focus of awareness notices the clutter and says, "That's not useful to me anymore." With that kind of clear awareness comes a strong intention to do something about it. Then it becomes easier to let go of those things.
