Change happens when there's an openness in us. It's as if the way we used to see things has cracked open and the light of insight comes through. We sometimes think we need to create that crack for positive change to occur. But the disillusion of our old ways of thinking is a naturally occurring process.
I remember when I was a kid looking at a tree trunk that had grown out of the ground and cracked a sidewalk. I thought, "That's life. It proceeds on its own, regardless of my inklings." Then I got the sense that there was wisdom in life itself beyond my understanding.
When we get the sense that something no longer fits our life, it's that wisdom shining through us.
