I went for a hike in the woods in Vancouver. Things were growing everywhere. It was alive!

Even though it was full of life, I could also feel the space. The trees and ferns and bushes existed within the space, without diminishing it.

I recognized that feeling from clutter busting. When I remove what doesn't matter to me anymore, I can feel the presence of the space in my life.

As I looked around the forest, I found a piece of a redwood tree on the ground. I picked it up and held it in my hand. The bark felt as alive as me.
